Luckily these are minor things that only happens at certain points and are completely avoidable.
#Speccy vs cpu z Pc#
So even if the issues the PC version is facing gets fixed that the console versions don't suffer from, there seems to be issues that the game simply suffers from regardless of platform.Ĭould we be looking at an engine issue with the game? I worry it won't get fixed in that case. Then I watched Max's stream of him playing the third territory boss fight on PC and when he got caught up in that attack he dropped all the way from 120 to 58 fps and everything in between for several seconds. Thinking it was a PS5 issue, I then remembered playing the PC village demo and the flour bags there caused me a massive performance dip too.

All I can think of is when you do get caught up in this attack it causes smoke close to the camera, which I imagine is an alpha effect. The attack only tanks the performance when it is hitting you, if you avoid it the effect doesn't tank the fps. When both of these happen the performance absolutely TANKS. One is hitting the flour bags, and the other is a specific attack that occurs during the boss fight in the third territory (I won't spoil). However I have encountered two "that isn't right." performance hits while playing on PS5. We've kinda been going off that the PC version is busted (which it is) while the console versions aren't but of course suffer performance drops due to not being as powerful. So, I've been playing the PS5 version and I've gotten to a point in the game that makes me worried if some performance issues won't be fixed on PC.
#Speccy vs cpu z driver#
The latest Studio driver is only a week old now, but it does nothing to help RE8. There are people with 3080s or 3090s having a worse experience than I am, with a Ryzen 1700X / 3060 Ti. Specs don't seem to matter that much, either. It's all very strange how the game seems to be running fine for some people - even with RT enabled - and disappointing that it's not like that for all of us. The "damage display: low" option suggested by someone else here before did work - I have multiple videos that show the game running completely smoothly after making that change, but it seems to have stopped at some point. Sure, I might replay it to unlock things but you can only play through a game for the first time, once.Ĭuriously, now that I've started a new game, it stutters on every kill in the opening village scene again, no matter what I do. So I've finished the game now.Įven if they do fix it, it's too late for me. I hope there is a patch, but frankly, I would rather be back in the days where PC releases were delayed until after the console version if this is the state they will ship in.įor me, the stutter was never unplayable so long as ray tracing was disabled - only annoying. In RE8 creatures have predefined reactions and damage animations, just like they did in RE4 over 15 years ago, so I can't help to think the game looks somewhat dated.Ĭlick to shrink. The latest Studio driver is only a week old now, but it does nothing to help RE8. Shooting enemies looks very disappointing, even moreso compared to the fantastic physics/ragdoll system of Resident Evil 2 Remake where zombies react insanely believable and realistic to damage/impact.

I was also instantly disappointed with Mias' face and facial animation at the beginning, which I found looked very dated (and "gamey") from a technical standpoint.Īlso the game seems to lack proper physics.

Outdoor areas look quite "gamey", with assets that often don't blend together believably (lighting & ambient occlusion probably has to do with that). Of course there are some nice, atmospheric scenes or environments, but especially in outdoor areas I often notice flat lighting, assets with hard edges or flat and blurry texture work. I can't say I'm impressed with the PS5 version, you can clearly tell this is a last gen game, only with a few very minor improvements here and there. What do PC folks think about the game's visuals in general?
